On Sat., Nov. 1st we are having a Juliet Gordon Lowe Day Celebration at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church for the Fredericksburg Service Unit, which is an association of many different troops from the city. We are hoping for between 80 and 125 participants for this event. This event coincides with a clothing drive taking place in the parking lot. The purpose of this event is to teach the girls a bit more about our founder, Juliet Lowe, and immerse them in activities that were important to her. She was a strong proponent of helping others in diverse ways.
We would love to have some of your therapy dogs and handlers for a 30 minute presentation during the day, specifically between 9:15 and 9:45. We would leave it to your discretion, since you are the expert, as to how to teach the girls about your dogs and how they help people. We would like for the girls to be able to touch and pet the dogs, if this is appropriate. As long as the weather is accommodating, we will be outside on the Methodist green. However, in case of inclement weather we have a fellowship hall inside reserved for the day's event.
We appreciate your time and consideration in helping our Girl Scouts.
